Osmania biscuit is a perfect tea time snack of Hyderabad. The name Osmania Biscuit is given in the name of the last ruler of Hyderabad Mir Osman Ali Khan. It is a tea accompaniment, which is a little sweet and little savory. Osmania biscuits are typically unraised, flat and crunchy. They are light and crispy, and it is straightforward to make these biscuits with minimum ingredients at your home.

 The recipe of Osmania Biscuit is given by our chef Swapna Sunil, which requires only 20 minutes for the preparation and 15 minutes for baking. Sieve all-purpose flour, milk powder, custard powder, salt, baking powder and mix them perfectly. Cream the butter and powdered sugar in another bowl add the flour mix to it and make a smooth dough by adding milk. Then shape the biscuits by the help of cookie cutter and bake in the preheated oven.

Ingredients used in Osmania biscuit

• Cardamom powder – 1/2 teaspoon.

• Milk powder – 10 grams.

• Custard powder – 10 grams.

• All-purpose flour – 200 grams.

• Milk – 20 ml.

• Sugar powder – 80 grams.

• Butter – 120 grams.

• Baking powder – 1/4 teaspoon.

• Saffron – 1/2 teaspoons.

• Milk – 1/2 cup.

• Salt – to taste.

Method:

  • In a bowl add butter, powder sugar mix it well adds milk mix it.
  • Take another bowl to add all-purpose flour, custard powder, milk powder, cardamom powder, salt, baking powder mix all of these, In this mixture Add the butter and sugar powder and mix it well like a dough.
  • Roll the dough into a thin sheet.
  • Cut them into a round shape and arrange the biscuits on the tray.
  • Pour the milk and saffron mixture on top of this.
  • Bake them at 180c for 15 minutes.
  • Osmania biscuits are ready to eat.
