The smartphone offers a slim body with a high screen-to-body ratio and 88-degree curves on both sides. Even more screen estate compared to the Find X. Shen dubbed the new display design as the ‘Waterfall Screen’, and judging by several images of the mystery phone is compared to the OPPO Find X could hint that this new smartphone might be a next-generation entry of that model according to Oppo, the prototype features an 88-degree curved body to make it “almost completely borderless” and the images shared on Twitter suggest the device has a taller aspect ratio than most current flagship smartphones – possibly around the 21:9 mark like the Sony Xperia 1 but without the bezels.
The absence of a notch or thick bezels which usually houses a front-facing camera indicates that the phone may feature a
pop-up camera module or most possibly OPPO’s new under-display camera which the company had previewed a while back. While Samsung also had plans to introduce their
under-display camera before this, OPPO is the first smartphone manufacturer to showcase the technology to the public during Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2019.
Oppo has shared pictures of a device with the new Waterfall Screen technology. The images show the front of the phone which will be all screen with no bezels and will come with a screen-to-body ratio that appears to be over 95 percent. The device also looks to have as much of a thin bezel at the bottom like at the top.
A month has passed since Oppo officially showcased its under-screen Camera technology. The company has now started teasing a new Oppo smartphone with a tall aspect ratio, an ‘almost’ bezel-less display, and curved edges. Oppo is calling the new display technology as “Waterfall Screen”.
